A-15 PILOT WATCH In 1943, the United States Army Air Forces initiated a project to test a new pilots’ watch that was developed by Bulova. The test watch was described by the USAAF as a “Type A-15 Elapsed Time Watch” and was designed to meet the specific requirements of pilots navigating by radio aids, dead reckoning, or pilotage. The type A-15 was developed with an incorporated elapsed time feature and a luminous dial.
The newest edition of the A-15 Pilot watch incorporates unique features of the original, while updated styling fits with the aesthetic of today. The distinctive dial features two rotating inner discs and is operated by two crowns — the 2H crown rotates elapsed time, and the 4H crown indicates Dual Time. The design of this timepiece, as well as its functioning features, are made more authentic with a fine Automatic movement, along with a supple topstitched leather strap to complete the look.
