Frederique Constant - Highlife Automatic Chronograph ‘Panda’

2 Year Limited Warranty

ELABORATE CHRONOGRAPH

Many details have been designed to make the Highlife Chronograph Automatic subtle and unique. Respecting the hallmarks of Geneva’s fine watchmaking, the Highlife Chronograph Automatic alternates polished and brushed satin finishes on its case, its sides, and bezel. Two pushers appear, at 2 and 4 o’clock. They control the start/stop of the chronograph, as well as its reset. Their profile has been slightly tilted a few degrees so that they fit harmoniously into the profile of the case. The chronograph counters have an inward curved collar, offering a more precise reading of the chronograph indications. The fine graduation of its collar allows to read the 1/5th of a second. On the back, the case features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that allows you to admire the automatic movement and its chronograph module – including its column wheel located at 3 o’clock.

DESIGN

Each version of the timepiece bears a two-compax chronograph, with a small second at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, balancing the Maison’s signature at noon. Three central hand-polished hands complete the set, with luminescent hours and minutes, and the central chronograph second hand. Each model is also equipped with a second complication useful in everyday life, the date, discreetly placed in a dedicated window between 4 and 5 o’clock.

60-HOUR POWER RESERVE

The Highlife Chronograph Automatic is equipped with the FC-391 automatic chronograph caliber, featuring the hours, minutes, seconds, date and a chronograph. Beating at 28’800 alt/h and offering a 60-hour power reserve, the FC-391 automatic chronograph caliber is water-resistant up to 10 ATM.

AN INGENIOUS STRAP SYSTEM

Frederique Constant launched the first models in the Highlife collection over 20 years ago. Their unique design was characterised by the special strap built into the case. For 2020, the Brand has updated the ingenious concept and reinvigorated the collection by adding three new models: the Highlife Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, Highlife Heart Beat and Highlife Automatic COSC. All still feature the system which makes it possible to switch between a steel bracelet, a leather, crococalf suede or rubber strap, alternating from classic to sporty on a whim!

    What is an Automatic Watch?

An automatic watch harnesses the wearer’s arm’s movement to power its mechanism. As the arm swings, a rotor inside the watch rotates, winding the mainspring. This stored energy is then released, driving the gears that keep the watch’s hands moving and ensure accurate timekeeping.
