A subtle combination of tradition and elegance, the Classics Premiere timepieces are housed in a delicate 38,50mm diameter case. On the dial, the applied indexes evolve around a mother of pearl, diamond-setting or a colimaçon decoration. Through the open caseback, which features a glassbox giving a magnifying glass effect on the back of the watch, one can admire the Côtes de Genève enhancing the G100 La Joux-Perret movement.
The hallmark of all things classic is that they never go out of fashion. Fine Geneva watchmaking wrote the style guide in question over two centuries ago, and its precepts are just as relevant in 2024. Today, only a few minor details have been changed and refined, plus the added benefit of twenty-first century accuracy and reliability.
The Classics Première line embodies this approach, combining tradition and modernity. It comes in a diameter of just 38.5mm: timeless and perfect for any wrist. Borne on a calfskin strap equipped with a discreet pin buckle, it exudes an air of balanced – and classic – restraint.
Three central hands glide above a dial divided into two sections, with a sunburst minute circle marked out in Arabic numerals and an hour ring with hours denoted in Roman numerals. The central section is decorated with a fine guilloche pattern that adds both depth and texture. The piece is powered by a self-winding automatic mechanical movement that can be viewed through the transparent caseback. The watch boasts a power reserve of 68 hours – the best part of three days – so you can take it off on Friday and be sure it will still be keeping time on Monday morning.
What is an Automatic Watch?
An automatic watch harnesses the wearer’s arm’s movement to power its mechanism. As the arm swings, a rotor inside the watch rotates, winding the mainspring. This stored energy is then released, driving the gears that keep the watch’s hands moving and ensure accurate timekeeping.
