The “Supernova” marks the 10 year anniversary of the Astron – the world’s first GPS Solar watch created by Seiko; powered by light, automatically adjusting to the exact time through the latest satellite technology. This timepiece is from the “Solidity” collection which underlines the continuing relevance of its technological design.
The deep purple glitter gradation on the dial is in a “Supernova” effect, whilst the solid ceramic bezel, stylish case and pushers with high visibility 3-dimensional indices make it a robust, reliable watch.
Powered by the Seiko in-house 5X calibre with advanced functionality – every component in the GPS module has been re-engineered to make it faster and more intuitive than ever. Just three seconds are needed to advance 14 hours from Tokyo to New York time, thanks to the system that moves hour, minute, and second hand independently. The functions allow easy adjustment to Daylight Saving Time and give the wearer the ability to switch the main dial instantly from home to local time and vice versa. When a time zone adjustment is required, all it takes is a simple push of a button and the hands move faster than ever to the exact local time.
